Surgery. Ventilator. Prayer.

Day 119

Samuel will have his hernia repair surgery tomorrow. Please please please pray that it goes well. We would like for him to come off the ventilator and have a quick recovery. It is scheduled for 1:00 tomorrow afternoon but they may try to work him in as early as 8:30am depending on cancellations.
Samuel wasn't dropping his heartrate today like he was yesterday. We think it must have been from the eye drops. However......he didn't have a happy day. His stomach seemed to be bothering him - I've never heard him cry so hard before. He just didn't stop. It made me sad to see him so upset.
I asked the doctor about his eye exam and he seemed to attribute the change to the fact that a different doctor examined Samuel and that he wrote on the form "poor dilation." Hopefully when they redo the exam next week, it will look better.
