A Day at the Corn Maze

Today we visited the Right Choices Corn Maze in Southwest City, MO.  I was familiar with this corn maze from my teaching days (we took our first graders on a field trip here each year) and had always been told that it was the prettiest corn maze / pumpkin patch in the area.  As you can imagine, there were few moments to appreciate my surroundings on such hectic ventures.

This morning I had the opportunity to take it all in....and it really WAS beautiful.  It was the kind of day and place that made me wish I knew something (anything) about photography.

My only 'complaint' is that they don't have a REAL pumpkin patch...although Samuel had a good time looking at all the pumpkins anyway.

What elicits an ecstatic smile such as the one below?  Tractor.  Tractor.  Tractor.  We heard that word about 1,000,000,000 times today.  He was so adorable.  I don't know where he gets his love of boy stuff (dirt, rocks, leaves, tractors)...we certainly haven't forced any male stereotypes on him.  He just genuinely loves it.

The hill slides were a lot of fun.  They were slow enough so Samuel could go down by himself, even though he preferred to ride with one of us.

Driving his tractor.

He wasn't so sure about the hay tunnel...

And a day wouldn't be complete without riding the cow train.

These are the days I've been waiting for.  Days when we can take him to experience new things.  Days when I know he's absorbing everything - and enjoying it all the while.
